Problem: BlueLinx, a leading distributor of building products in North America, offers thousands of products from suppliers all over the world to service over 10,000 customers nationwide — including dealers, industrial manufacturers, manufactured housing producers and home improvement retailers. The company operates its distribution business through a vast network of 40 distribution centers located throughout the U.S. They contacted EnableIP because they no longer wanted to manage the many issues related to their broadband VPN.

Solution: First, we looked at AT&T, but their early approach on MPLS was built on old Frame Relay technology to a pure MPLS solution; they couldn’t provide a turn-key install as BlueLinx had limited resources internally to manage, configure and install a new network.

EnableIP partnered with CenturyLink to provide a turnkey solution that removed all migration efforts from BlueLinx to us — all the way down to post-installation application layer testing at all sites. CenturyLink provided the pure MPLS solution to all BlueLinx locations at a lower cost than the previous hybrid network that it replaced.
